About The Wharton Center at CERT

Working in partnership with the Higher Colleges of Technology and the Center of Excellence for Applied Research & Training (CERT), the Wharton Centre focuses on the creation and dissemination of business and industry relevant research by one of the world’s foremost business schools – the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. It also pioneers new knowledge by managing a broad array of projects, publications, seminars and events which are directly relevant to the UAE and the broader Middle East, while providing an international perspective.

The Wharton Centre also publishes the Knowledge@Wharton MENA edition, the Wharton School’s award-winning online journal of business research and analysis. The audience of Knowledge@Wharton’s Global Network consists of more than 1.7 million registered users in 200 countries and produces over 6 million page views each month across the sites. The subscriber base of the Knowledge@Wharton Global Network includes senior executives at Fortune Global 500 and Fortune U.S. 100 companies, among other high level managers, as well as leaders from government, academia and the media. The Journal is published in Arabic, Chinese, English, Portuguese and Spanish.

The Wharton Center at CERT is part of a network of the Wharton School’s 25 research centers located throughout the world. The initiatives and work undertaken at the Wharton Center reflect the diversity and depth of research interests and activity at the Wharton School itself.

The interdisciplinary centers serve as an intellectual hub for Wharton and University of Pennsylvania faculty, students, and members of the business community, who come together to study and debate key business challenges. Their work generates courses, academic programs, community outreach, published research, and partnerships among academics, government, and industry.

The Wharton Center at CERT will act as a hub for the MENA Region where the Wharton School can conduct research and host seminars and events for UAE-based and regional business and management executives. The Center has already hosted a highly successful leadership seminar on October 12, 2011 by Professor Michael Useem, the Director of the Wharton Center for Leadership and Change Management at the University of Pennsylvania. It will host further leadership and management related seminars in the future.
