Official Rules

Eligibility

The Innovation Tournament 2021 is open to all individuals and/or groups from anywhere in the world who wish to enter. Staff members, and their families, of the Higher Colleges of Technology and of the Wharton School or Knowledge@Wharton are not eligible to enter. However, faculty members are permitted to enter.

Students at the Higher Colleges of Technology, University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School are eligible to enter. All entries must be the original work of the tournament participant(s).

By submitting an application any applicant or applicants fully agrees to be bound by the official rules, terms & conditions of the Innovation Tournament 2021 in existence or created at any time by the organizers.

The deadline for submissions to the Innovation Tournament 2021 is 5pm April 26, 2013 (UAE time). All entries must include contact information (email and phone number) for the individual and/or groups entering the tournament.

Acceptable Entries

All entries must be presented in the following file formats:

  • Word document
  • PowerPoint presentation
  • PDF file or
  • Excel spreadsheet

Entries cannot be more than 10 pages and preferably fewer than five pages. The entries may include supporting information such as hyperlinks, web resources and other visuals that help to articulate the concept.

Confidentiality

All reasonable efforts will be made to ensure a level of confidentiality of the solutions entered for submission and presented. However, neither the Higher Colleges of Technology nor Knowledge@Wharton can guarantee any degree of confidentiality.

Additionally, finalists will be asked to agree to be interviewed for publicity and editorial coverage purposes on Knowledge@Wharton and Higher Colleges of Technology publications. In doing so, will be speaking about their ideas to a general audience.

Judges’ decisions

In each Phase or stage of the Innovation Tournament 2021 the decisions or adjudications of the judges shall be final and binding on the applicants, and no correspondence regarding any such decisions/adjudications shall be entered into. The judges shall not be obliged to provide reasons for rejecting or not accepting any application.
