Focus on Wharton

The Wharton School, established in 1881 and based at the University of Pennsylvania, is the world’s first collegiate business school. It has been ranked joint first with the London Business School in the Financial Times 2011 Global MBA Rankings. It has the largest, and one of the most published, business school faculty, with more than 250 standing and associate members. It boasts 88,000 alumni in 145 countries around the world and has 11 academic departments servicing 5,000 undergraduate, MBA, executive MBA, and doctoral students.

Focus on Higher Colleges of Technology

Founded in 1988 with four colleges, the Higher Colleges of Technology has grown to be the largest of the higher educational institutions in the UAE, gaining a well-respected reputation for innovative learning. More than 20,000 students attend 17 modern men’s and women’s campuses in the cities of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, Sharjah, Fujairah and the western region of Madinat Zayed and Ruwais.

The Centre of Excellence for Applied Research & Training (CERT) is the commercial, research and training arm of the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), which is the largest higher education institution in the United Arab Emirates.

Since its creation in 1996, CERT has grown to be one of the largest private education providers in the Middle East and has become synonymous with quality in education, training, research, and socioeconomic progress. The CERT Blue Gene supercomputer offers 5.7 teraflops calculating speed to corporate clients for use in biotechnology, nanotechnology, and genetics research as well as oil and gas simulation. The CERT Technology Park is home to international companies such as Intel, Honeywell and Lucent Technologies.

The CERT Institute for Languages offers instruction in several languages, and is also the sole provider of linguistic training to the UAE military and it also offers post-graduate programs for nationals and expatriates, which features the best professors from leading institutions around the world.
